Inside Their Wedding: ‘Gossip Girl’ Star Ed Westwick Marries Actress Amy Jackson

“I do”

Ed Westwick, the star of Gossip Girl, recently married Supergirl actress Amy Jackson earlier this month in London. The newlyweds celebrated with an intimate gathering at The Connaught Hotel on 9 August. Following this, the couple hosted a three-day open ceremony on 24 August at an Italian retreat.

The British actor proposed to his now-lawfully wedded wife during her birthday celebration in Gstaad, Switzerland, on the snowy bridge of Peak Walk in January. Amy Jackson, his wife, is a well-known figure in the Indian entertainment industry, celebrated for her incredible performances in films such as I, Thaandavam, Madrasapattinam, Theri, and others. It is said that the couple first met at the Silverstone racetrack in 2021, where he invited her on a double date with their pets – and that’s where it all began. Now, let us immerse ourselves in their ever-enchanting wedding on the coasts of Italy.

Westwick and Jackson first married at The Connaught Hotel in London before deciding on a special three-day destination wedding in Italy. Setting sail along the coastline of Ravello, Positano, and Sorrento, and stopping for a dip in Capri, the couple began their festive wedding weekend with a cruise aboard the Motonave Patrizia. They decorated the cruise in blue and white, with live Italian music serenading in the background.

Their wedding took place at Castello di Rocca Cilento, Italy, on the 24th. Federica Sottili of The Blonde Flower adorned the venue with stunning floral arrangements. To enchant their guests and bring a sense of home to the couple, cherry trees with white roses lined the aisle, creating a secret garden-like pathway. The reception got rolling on the 25th at Giardini del Fuenti in Salerno, Italy, where they hosted a farewell brunch before wrapping up the three-day cruise.

Throughout the weekend’s splendour, Jackson wore several white dresses.

For the ceremony, Jackson wore a wedding dress from Giorgio Armani, designed by Alberta Ferretti. To handle the Italian summer heat, Alberta opted for a light and airy Mikado fabric for the actress. To complete the look, Jackson added a stunning 15-foot hand-embroidered veil. As for Westwick, he sported a white tuxedo jacket and black trousers from Giorgio Armani, drawing inspiration from James Bond in Casino Royale.

Then, at the reception, Jackson changed into a white dress designed by Pronovias Atelier. The dress drew inspiration from her admiration for the French couturier Madame Grès. It featured a modern embellished corset and a pair of diamond rain-like gloves with vintage elements.

Food

Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson served their guests Neapolitan cuisine, overseen by Michelin-starred chef Salvatore Iazzetta. The chef, who owns the Ristorante Rear in Naples, crafted the culinary delights. They also offered fresh sushi prepared by Vero Omakase, alongside spicy margaritas and Bellinis as beverages.

For their wedding, the couple served up a delightful menu featuring Zucchine alla Scapece (zucchini with mint) and Melanzane a Funghetto (eggplant, tomato, and basil). Street food lovers enjoyed pasta fritters and deep-fried arancini, while the entrees included zesty citrus risotto and raviolo filled with creamy cacio ricotta cheese. To sweeten the end of the meal, guests indulged in fresh fruits and Delizia al Limone, a lemon sponge cake that was simply divine.

Wedding Cake

Baked by the talented pastry chef Damiano Carrara, the five-tier wedding cake was a masterpiece. It dazzled with a layer of white chocolate and candied roses, followed by a velvety vanilla Bavarian cream. At its base, a pâte à choux biscuit supported a dreamy lychee mousse, all topped off with a vibrant raspberry gelée.

In a touching tribute to his late parents, Westwick had the chef whip up an assortment of strawberry and meringue-inspired chocolates, their absolute favourites. The sweet treats were elegantly packaged in boxes engraved with his parents’ names, making for a heartfelt gift that each guest took home.
