‘NEWNEW’ at M Gallery: An Exhibition of Diverse Artists

M Gallery is delighted to showcase a group exhibition of new artworks by well-known and up-and-coming artists.

“New New” will be on exhibit from March 19 to March 31, 2022. The event opened to the public on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 at M Gallery, Petaling Jaya. A total of nine artists will be shown in the exhibition. Ashraf Romli, Khadijah Juswil, Qusyairi Zazili, Ruben Lim, Ryan Tang, Shameen Fadzil, Viko Zhijune, Wong Chee Hwa, and Yante Ismail are among the participants.

The exhibit focuses on exploring the correlation between the forms, concepts, and methods of art. In addition, six artists will be showcasing their new collections.

Ruben Lim: Remember (2022)

In this artwork, we can see that Ruben Lim’s paintings combine both abstract and realism. The idea is to emphasize nature’s presence in an urban area. He also put through many layers of paint in the artwork. The idea is to represent the artwork as vague and ethereal as a memory.

Yante Ismail (2021)

We can see that Yante Ismail is an expert at drawing figures. Not only that, but she also dabbles with portraits. The artwork communicates the distinct characteristics of her subjects. In addition, Yante Ismail explores the general topic of individual roles in society interpreted within her artwork. She also investigates the issues society has been facing.

Qusyairi Zazili: Untitled 2021

Additionally, Qusyairi Zazili’s art, which will be on display at the gallery, is dependent on the presence of the evidence of memories. Qusyairi emphasizes the memory of landscape and the passage of light via representation and abstraction in his work.

 

The exhibition “New New” will be on display until March 31, 2022.
