Mimi Kakushi’s Takeover at Wakuda Singapore for the F1 Weekend

Each Formula 1 weekend, Marina Bay Sands transforms into a playground of glamour, and this year, Wakuda elevates the celebrations further with a bar takeover by Dubai’s acclaimed Mimi Kakushi. Ranked No. 40 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list, the concept brings a slice of 1920s Osaka to Singapore, complete with the moody sophistication and cinematic allure that defines the Dubai original.

Inspired by Sessue Hayakawa—Hollywood’s first Japanese leading man and an icon of the silent film era—the takeover channels the decadent spirit of old-world Japan through five meticulously crafted cocktails, available from 3 to 5 October. Each drink embodies a unique personality, catering to a wide range of palates—whether you prefer your tipples bold and complex or light and refreshing.

The Five Curated Creations

Kiyo Mizu

A clarified blend of Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, Kahlúa, yuzu, lime, vanilla, milk and matcha, Kiyo Mizu strikes a balance between indulgence and delicacy. Its light and subtle sweetness make it ideal for those who enjoy softer, dessert-like cocktails with depth—think of it as the perfect introduction for those who like their drinks on the lighter, more polished side.

Tsumabiki

Crafted with Cointreau, blanco tequila, verjuice and bell pepper, Tsumabiki is an invigorating surprise—bright, citrusy, distinctly green, and ever so slightly spicy. This is the drink for those who love a fresh, garden-inspired aperitif, offering a crisp start that wakes up the palate without overpowering it.

Sayonara

Perhaps the boldest of the trio, Sayonara is a reinterpretation of the classic Negroni, combining The Botanist Gin, Mancino Rosso, umeshu, aperol, campari, and a hint of coconut. It’s a cocktail for the adventurous drinker—aromatic, intense, and slightly bittersweet, yet refined through a delicate Japanese sensibility. This one is even served in quite an icy spectacle, and not one to miss.

Genso

Among the non-alcoholic offerings, Genso is a standout—a layered mix that’s earthy, fruity, and reminiscent of a dessert in a glass. It’s perfect for those who enjoy rich, full-bodied flavours without the alcohol, offering the same sense of occasion as its spirited counterparts.

Denki-Kan

For something brighter, Denki-Kan offers a crisp, effervescent profile. Delicate spice and botanical freshness give this alcohol-free spritz a sophisticated edge, making it ideal for daytime sipping or as a palate cleanser between courses.

Together, the five cocktails showcase Mimi Kakushi’s flair for storytelling through flavour—each one evocative of Japanese heritage, but modern in execution.

WAKUDA’s F1 Cocktail Line-up

Beyond the takeover, Wakuda keeps the momentum going with its race-themed cocktail menu, running until 12 October. These limited-time serves celebrate precision, craftsmanship, and the high-octane thrill of the season.

Highlights include the Marina Circuit Martini, an elegant vodka-based concoction infused with Shine Muscat and citrus for a touch of refined sweetness; Don’t Hold Your Blanco, a bold tequila creation laced with spice; and Pit Stop Scarlet, a gin-forward option balancing herbal and tart fruit notes. For something indulgent, Hammer Time reinvents the Old Fashioned with wagyu tallow and applewood smoke, while Corsa Sour puts a Japanese spin on the whiskey sour with Suntory Old and a zesty citrus lift.
