Lady Gaga and Fiancé Christian Carino Call off Their Engagement

Lady Gaga and her talent agent fiancé, Christian Carino, have parted ways after nearly two years together. Her rep confirmed news of the breakup to People today.

A source told the outlet the relationship “just didn’t work out” and “there’s no long dramatic story” behind the split.

It’s unclear exactly when the separation took place, but fans began speculating over a potential split after the Grammy Awards on February 10. Gaga attended the ceremony without Carino and wasn’t wearing her engagement ring.

He previously accompanied the A Star Is Born actress to the Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 27, and the Golden Globes on January 6. The couple was seen showing PDA on both occasions.

Carino even shared a sweet Instagram photo of Gaga with her Golden Globe trophy (“Shallow” won for Best Original Song) in bed the morning after the ceremony.

The singer also didn’t thank her former fiancé in her acceptance speech when “Shallow” won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance during last Sunday’s Grammys, People points out.

In October, the singer and actress acknowledged Carino in an emotional speech at ELLE‘s Women in Hollywood event. She referred to the agent as “my fiancé,” thus confirming long-running rumors that the two were engaged.

Gaga and Carino were first linked in February 2017, after the pair was seen showing PDA during Super Bowl weekend. (Gaga performed at the Halftime Show that year.) People adds that speculation began after the two were seen at a Kings of Leon concert together that year.

Gaga was previously romantically linked to actor Taylor Kinney. The former couple dated for five years and got engaged in February 2015 before breaking up in July 2016.
