Just one month and one day before their wedding, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out to begin their work with the Commonwealth Youth Forum this afternoon. The couple attended a reception during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London.
The royal pair were introduced to around 40 of the 500 young leaders taking part in the forum’s sessions, according to The Telegraph.
The forum sets out to encourage young people to become more involved in debating the challenges they face as a generation and to influence future decision-makers.
Harry said on Monday that Markle is “hugely excited” to be joining him in his Commonwealth duties, as he was given a new role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador.
The couple will also attend a Women’s Empowerment reception on Thursday, hosted by Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. Charities and organisations will work together to promote global gender equality through girls’ education.
