A one-of-a-kind hotel experience awaits on the 33rd floor of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Named the Barbie Ultimate Staycation, be transported into Barbie World as soon as you step off the lift. In partnership with Mattel Malaysia, the hotel has dedicated one floor comprising 14 rooms and suites to the hot pink and empowering realm of Barbie. No matter if you’re an adult game for fun experiences or parents looking for an entertaining place to take your kids, nieces or nephews to, this thematic staycation will tick off everything on your list.

There are three types of themed rooms available, namely, ‘You Can Be Anything’, ‘Barbie Fantasy’ and ‘Barbie EXTRA’. Over the weekend, I was given a chance to stay in the ‘You Can Be Anything’ room that’s dedicated to occupations and careers. To make the stay a little bit more meaningful, I brought along my four-year-old son and seven-year-old niece with me. Upon entering, I was taken aback by how pink and lively the room was and needless to say, the kids were jumping for joy and immediately took off to observe every single detail!

Expect a three-tier Barbie Dreamhouse Playset, a small camping tent, Barbie cushions galore, and toys and costumes for the little ones to play with. Meanwhile, adults can tap into their inner child by posing for pictures, drink coffee or tea from the cute pink tea sets provided or comfortably sink into bed and soak in the joyful atmosphere. As the kids played dress-up and explored the massive playhouse, I was able to take time out for myself to just unwind and relax. I have to say, everything was well-thought-out and overall, we had a restful and delightful weekend.

Afternoon tea at the Barbie Cafe

Not to be missed is the Barbie Pink Afternoon Tea session located at a glasshouse restaurant overlooking the vast swimming pool on Level 2. Photo opportunities are aplenty so be sure to come in your best attire to match the pink and turquoise interior. The tea sets served are kid-friendly with a generous selection of mini cheese and ham, and egg sandwiches, canapés, scones, yoghurt and beef sliders, with the option to order either a vanilla, chocolate or strawberry milkshake. An eat-all-you-can ice cream and dessert bar was also set up alongside a stunning Barbie photo wall modelled after a Barbie packaging box.
