Nobu’s Sake Pairing Is What You Need This Long Weekend

Trio of Appetisers and Range of Sakes

Celebrate spring in true Japanese style with Nobu Kuala Lumpur on the 21st and 22nd of April, as an all-new sake pairing experience is revealed, and presented alongside beautiful plates of fresh seafood.

Journey through the seven-course degustation menu with some of  the restaurant’s premium sake selections – Nobu ‘The Sake’ Jyunmai Daiginjo, Hokusetsu Yukino Hibiki, Nobu “The Premium Sake” Daiginjo TK 40, Nobu Special Reserve 28, Hokuketsu Jyunmai Shu Sado and Umeshu Plum Wine.

The first few plates such as the Mushi-Zushi – a rice dish of unagi, snow crab tamago and shrimp steamed in a wooden box, and the Inaniwa with Shrimp and Squid – thin noodles served with charred seafood, tossed in a light sauce were gentle and delicate on the tastebuds, preparing us for what’s to come. Needless to say, we were not disappointed by the wait. The main dish – succulent Kobe beef fillet with quinoa tabbouleh salsa, garnished with a lightly fried zucchini flower was served and we felt truly blown away by the experience.

Yuzu crème brûlée and mochi

For the final part of the pairing journey, a refreshing umeshu plum wine was brought forward, together with Yuzu crème brûlée, topped with mochi. A sweet finish to a tantalising omakase experience.
