Globally, Miami is synonymous with music and escapism. It's the beach city in which to let your hair down, party at the best clubs, and sip cocktails by the pool. But for those who want to experience a little more beyond the famous nightlife, here’s our guide to the best alternative hotspots the Magic City has to offer.

Relax at Soho Beach House

Soho Beach House

Housed in the former Sovereign Hotel, a 1940s art deco building designed by Roy France, Soho House’s Florida venture has balanced its signature London style with a hint of Miami decadence. The private members’ club is a refuge from the tourist hotspot that is Miami’s South Beach; guests can relax by either of the two pools, at the signature Cowshed Spa or on your room’s enormous balcony (if you’ve booked wisely). Dining options include Soho House favourite Cecconi’s and a beach restaurant serving daytime snacks (the tuna poke bowl being a firm favourite for us), which transforms into a lively hangout after dark. However, no visit is complete without a visit to the rooftop Mexican restaurant and Ocho Tequila bar – the perfect place to embrace the panoramic views of the coast as you enjoy a refreshing margarita.
