Put your feet up at the eco-friendly 1 Hotel, South Beach

1 Hotel

Putting a 21st-century spin on hospitality is the third incarnation of the 1 Hotel brand in South Beach. Inspired by nature and dedicated to sustainability, 1 Hotel leads the way in what can be a hugely wasteful industry: the water is filtered; recycled wood replaces plastic; living walls and reclaimed furniture pepper the building; and organic soft furnishings, products and food are abundant. Health and vitality are strongly promoted; the Spartan Gym hosts an ever-changing variety of classes taught by fitness experts, and there’s even a Soulcycle on site. 1 Hotel offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation too, as the brand boasts the first US sites for the renowned Bamford Spa (in South Beach and Brooklyn), founded by British organic visionary, and founder of Daylesford Farm, Carol Bamford. Watr restaurant on 1 Hotel’s spectacular rooftop is open to hotel guests only until 7pm with a fresh menu that encourages healthy eating. The Impossible Burger is astounding – it’s hard to accept that it’s 100 per cent vegan.
