The Swedish car brand is merging the past and present with a spectacle rich in history
From the leather-clad steering wheel to the vibrations of engines, you’d only need a glance to tell the difference between an old and a new car. Like all good things, cars have gotten better with age and perhaps the purest example of all this are Volvo cars. With golden moments in their history books, Volvo has been at the forefront of the automotive industry when it comes to revolutionising automotive design — by enhancing practicality, upgrading performance or creating a completely new model. Known to be the movers, shakers, and makers of tomorrow, Volvo cars have always redefined what a car should look like since 1927 and they’re proving just that with their “Makers of Tomorrow” exhibition.
Here’s everything you need to know about Volvo Car Malaysia’s exhibition:
Bridging the gap between past and present, Volvo Cars Malaysia are paying homage to their history with an exhibition that showcases classic silhouettes from the past to the brand’s state-of-the-art pure electric and hybrid cars of today. The rich spectacle commemorates Volvo’s 57 years of growing together with generations of Malaysians — a truly iconic moment that falls just in time for Malaysia’s independence and national day.
Car aficionados will love the museum-like exhibition that tells the story of the Swedish brand that was among the first automotive manufacturers to answer Malaysia’s call for foreign investment. Whether you’re a novice or a car veteran, the exhibition is a great chronicler of Volvo’s long-standing role as the great innovator of safety systems and sustainable motoring. At the exhibition, you’ll learn more about Volvo’s invention of the three-point safety belt, the first-made in Malaysia car, Volvo’s breakthrough with the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), and the first locally-made electric vehicle in Malaysia. There’s no doubt you’ll be walking and driving away with tons of knowledge.
Paying homage to the originals, Volvo Car Malaysia have also displayed the stunning Volvo 144 and Volvo 122S alongside their newest ground-breaking additions, Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, Volvo XC60 Recharge, and Volvo XC90 Recharge. The showcasing of these cars emphasises Volvo’s role in creating a better tomorrow with a transition to electric mobility.
From now until 30 September 2023, customers who purchase a new Volvo Recharge Pure Electric model (XC40 Recharge Pure Electric or C40 Recharge Pure Electric) with Volvo Car Financial Services will enjoy the benefits of instant final price reduction worth RM20,000 with additional savings via a principal reduction method.
