Dior
Resembling a renaissance painting, Maria Grazia Chiuri takes inspiration from a map of Paris from the House’s archives for their Spring RTW 2023 collection. Utilising geometric shapes, floral prints and monochromatic tones, the whole collection was timeless, feminine and powerful. From textured skirts, co-ord pieces and corsets, Dior’s collection was soft and graceful.
Paul Smith
Dedicating his collection to suits, Paul Smith elevated traditional three-piece suits with a fresh appraisal. Inspired by the 1980s codes, the whole collection had a play with airbrushed prints, slick silhouettes and a pastel palette.
Saint Laurent
Saint Laurent’s Spring RTW 2023 collection was strong, sexy and elegant. Looking back to YSL’s mid-80s days, the collection saw hooded, draped capuche dresses, strong tailored coats, and beautifully rendered jersey dresses. Showcasing glorious muted colours with a definitive touch of navy blues and warm hues, everything in the collection was polished beautifully with powerful statements.
Dries Van Noten
Going from black to colours, Dries Van Noten’s Spring RTW 2023 collection had flamboyant colours that erupted into floral prints. Full of joy and optimism, the collection encompassed themes that explore floral-centric patterns, ruffles, soft textures, pleats and more. You could see a mixture of structure and soft silhouettes that make up the whole collection.
Acne Studios
Celebrating their 10th anniversary at PFW23, Acne Studios wowed us with their unusual collection. Straying away from their Swedish roots—edgy, raw staples—the Spring RTW 2023 collection had a kitschy aesthetic inspired by weddings. There was a playful touch of romanticism in the air as the looks showcased a fresh take on pastels, ultra-sheer fabrics and structured allure.
Rochas
Dipped in blue, white and black, Rochas Spring RTW 2023 lineup had a gothic yet romantic allure. Highlighting ruffled dresses, capes and flora-printed looks, the whole collection had an elevated feminine collection.
Balmain
Oscillating between complex and crafted pieces, Balmain’s Spring RTW 2023 collection had a stunning showcase of biodegradable raffia, bamboo, wicker and fabrics made of paper and banana. Playing with renaissance motifs, the progressive collection had beautiful tattered gowns on the runway.
