With his evergreen mindset of art being an opportunistic bridge of social and cultural barriers to birth beauty in a way that could be inspired by all, Kohei created an exclusive art piece especially for Oribe, entitled the Goddess of Paradise. To be used on the packaging design of the limited-edition gift sets of the season, the artist has “woven together traditional Japanese animal and plant motifs in a garden landscape with a goddess figure’s flowing hair turning into water. All the different shapes and forms that water takes represents the myriad of different hair textures, all beautiful, seen in this world. The animals and insects shown in the work are allured by the scents of the plants which call back to the iconic scent of Côte d’Azur.”
