What is the movie about?
With the tagline of the movie being, “Discover How Willy Became Wonka”, Wonka tells the tale of how Willy, a magician, inventor and chocolate maker, fell in love with chocolate making and the meetings of the Oompa-Loompas. Since the trailer dropped recently, fans have gotten a sneak peek of this highly-anticipated movie.
The trailer unveils clips of Willy Wonka’s exciting adventure as he embarks on the troubles he goes through in starting his own chocolate business. Just like how the characters feel after trying Wonka’s chocolate for the first time, the two-minute trailer has us already wanting more. From the magic to the musical element of the movie, we can already tell that this Wonka tale is going to be a sweet hit.
When is the movie coming out?
The movie was initially supposed to hit the cinemas in March 2023. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the movie has been rescheduled to come out in theatres worldwide on 15 December 2023.
Who is starring in the movie?
The cast of this movie is certainly a remarkable one. Starting, we have none other than the Oscar nominee and everyone’s favourite heartthrob, Timothée Chalamet, playing the main role, Willy Wonka. With his twist, Chalamet brings to life the silliness and quirkiness of Willy Wonka, which we all know and love. Another popular Wonka character that we are all very excited to see is the famous Oompa-Loompa, who will be played by the well-known British actor Hugh Grant.
What is a movie without a villain? And who better to play the part than the one and only Olivia Colman? Along with the introduction of Willy Wonka’s mother, who is portrayed by Sally Hawkins, the movie’s cast just keeps getting better and better, and we are excited to see the rest once the movie hits the cinema.
