Let’s get into the science behind the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener.
The Dyson Airstrait™ straightener operates without the use of hot plates; rather, it harnesses powerful airflow. When using the device, a precisely angled high-pressure blade of air is directed downward into your hair. This airflow is projected at a 45° angle to ensure that your hair strands are aligned, resulting in a smooth and shiny finish. With just this one machine, you can simultaneously dry and straighten your hair.

Fundamentally, achieving a new hairstyle requires breaking and resetting the hydrogen bonds in each strand of your hair. With controlled airflow, this process is accomplished without high heat, minimising hair damage. Once the hair is dry and aligned, the bonds are reset, locking in the new style.

Another noteworthy feature is its intuitive and intelligent heat control, which may not be new to users familiar with the brand’s hair care range. Data is continuously sent to the microprocessor, ensuring precise regulation of the heating elements. As a result, the airflow will never exceed the required temperature, providing added safety and protection for your hair.
To elaborate further, the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener offers two modes:
1. ‘Wet’ and ‘Dry’ styling
For added convenience, the ‘Wet’ and ‘Dry’ styling mode comes pre-set with specific heat and airflow settings. It offers three heat settings: 80°C, 110°C, and 140°C. Meanwhile, the ‘Dry’ mode offers temperatures ranging from 120°C to 140°C, along with an optional “boost.”
2. ‘Cool’ setting to set the style in place.
Additionally, for airflow control, users can choose between low flow or high flow speed settings, as well as access a cold shot and root drying mode.
