Get your pucks ready!
Hockey romance possesses a particular alchemy—the collision of ice and fire and the raw intensity of falling in love in a high-stakes environment. For years, this electric combination has captivated readers through novels like Heated Rivalry, with its forbidden longing, and Elle Kennedy’s cult-classic Off Campus series, where love hits harder than any body check and happily ever after is worth fighting for both on and off the ice.
Now, the genre is making its triumphant leap to television. As streaming platforms recognise the irresistible appeal of stories brimming with tension, banter, and love that feels both inevitable and impossible, hockey dramas are emerging as the next big thing in romantic entertainment. And leading this charge is Prime Video’s adaptation of Off Campus—a series that promises all the emotional gut-punches, athletic prowess and stolen moments that have made hockey romance a phenomenon.
Whether you’re a longtime devotee of the books or a newcomer curious about the hype, here’s everything you need to know before the series premieres.
All you need to know about the “Off Campus” series:
What is it about?
For romance devotees, Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series has long held cult classic status—the kind of beloved, dog-eared novels passed between friends with fervent recommendations. Now, Prime Video’s adaptation offers a masterful entry point into this world of elite college hockey. With emotional depth, slow-burning chemistry and intricate storytelling of self-discovery, this series will entice all your senses.

The series centres on Hannah, a reserved songwriter enlisted to tutor Briar University’s hockey captain, Garrett Graham. The arrangement is transactional: academic support in exchange for a fake date designed to make her musician crush jealous. But proximity rewrites the rules. What begins as pretence evolves into something magnetic—tutoring sessions give way to genuine connection, carefully drawn boundaries begin to blur, and both must confront whether they’re ready for the vulnerability that real love demands.
With a second season already confirmed, there’s promise that the remaining novels—The Mistake, The Score, and The Goal—will eventually make their way to the screen. Until then, consider this your reading list for the interim between episodes.

According to Prime Video, “Off Campus follows an elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.” Season one explores the intoxicating “opposites attract” dynamic between Hannah’s introspective artistry and Garrett’s all-star confidence—a romance that’s as much about personal transformation as it is about falling in love.
