After 20 glorious years, the French concept store is closing its doors.
“As all good things must come to an end, after twenty wonderful years, colette should be closing its doors on December 20th of this year. Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she would like to take her time; and colette cannot exist without Colette,” the store said in a statement on Instagram.
The landmark boutique was founded in 1997 by Colette Roussaux. Sarah Andelman, daughter of Colette, took over as the creative director in the recent years.
The store is in talks with Saint Laurent to take over its Rue Saint-Honoré location. “Negotiations are under way with Saint Laurent and we would be proud to have a Brand with such a history, with whom we have frequently collaborated, taking over our address,” the store continued. “We are happy of the serious interest expressed by Saint Laurent in this project, and it could also represent a very good opportunity for our employees.”
Colette will be ceasing its operations on the 20th of December. Andelman confirms that its e-commerce platform, colette.fr, will also be shut down and that she will concentrate on “turning the page”.
