The Gucci Autumn/Winter ’17 Campaign Is Out Of This World

Let us time travel back to when CGI was at its preliminary stages and actors had to don real costumes. Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, drew inspiration from the sci-fi genre of the ’50s and ’60s, including the iconic TV programme Star Trek, for Gucci’s Autumn/Winter ’17 campaign.

The campaign features otherworldly elements where a mixed cast of humanoids, aliens, and robots gather for the Gucci invasion at a galaxy far, far away. Complete with psychedelic outer space landscapes and trippy spaceship interiors, we’re transported to a parallel universe.

The retro-futuristic settings highlight the essence of Gucci as each piece of the collection stands out in its wild and fantastical compositions. Yet, at the same time, the embellishments and elaborate prints marry well with the whimsicality of the theme.
