Kerry Washington left little to the imagination on the Golden Globes red carpet. The former star of Scandal made jaws drop in a black blazer and slinky skirt with a slit that rivaled the infamous one that Angelina Jolie wore at the 2012 Oscars.
The too-hot-to-handle look by Altuzarra, which also featured a belly chain that started at her chest, certainly made a dramatic—if not scandalous—statement.
Her style at past appearances on the Golden Globes red carpet have been described as being elegant and classic: Think black strapless gowns and gold dresses with cap sleeves. But this time around, she eschewed a safe silhouette for an outfit that was sultry and—with presumably the help of double-side tape—defied physics.

The actress attended this year’s awards show as a presenter (she had been nominated in 2017 for the movie Confirmation and in 2014 for Scandal), so perhaps she took this opportunity to express her fun fashion side.
So often, the blazer-and-skirt combo is the hallmark for proper office attire. But with a bold chain in place of a blouse, and with the addition of a bold red lip, Washington gave a whole new meaning to the phrase risky business. And we’re totally digging the updated definition.
