Formal fashion is given a touch of eclecticism and nonchalance chic in the Louis Vuitton Fall 2021 Menswear capsule collection, making it perfect for the man of style who loves a standout moment.
At first glance, you’ll notice the warm and dark autumnal colours of camel brown and navy blue throughout the collection. However, give it a few seconds and then your eyes will slowly take in all the contrasting details such as the Maison’s checkerboard print in turquoise, brown or charcoal grey and the multi-colour tie-dye, named the Monogram Sunset – a reinterpretation of one of Virgil Abloh’s earliest prints – on jackets, short-sleeved shirts, a messenger bag and even shoelaces.
Alongside 3D-printed leather jackets, hoodies, cargo pants and denim Bermuda shorts in the same colour palette of brown, navy blue, turquoise and black, the collection is completed with a selection of leather pieces including the Keepall, the Sirius briefcase and the Trio Messenger bag, all available in the checkerboard pattern in turquoise or charcoal grey.
The brand’s Fall collection takes inspiration from a 1914 greetings card written by Gaston-Louis Vuitton. It featured an expressionist bouquet of flowers against a checkerboard background, which looked like Vuitton might have scratched it out himself. The handwritten inscription “Marque L. Vuitton déposée” has even been subtly incorporated into the print. This motif has come full circle to be right back on trend this season.
The Louis Vuitton Fall 2021 Menswear capsule collection will be available in Louis Vuitton stores.
