RIMOWA x Daniel Arsham

The evolution and functionality of the Pilot Case inspired the first RIMOWA collaboration.

The Pilot Case, a necessity for all airline personnel, fits perfectly behind the pilot’s seats. Owning this grooved aluminium case is a staple piece for musicians and DJs in the 1990s because it was convenient to transport equipment and records.

RIMOWA recently reissued the Pilot Case, and in collaboration with the brilliant Daniel Arsham, an imagined universe was constructed around it, resulting in the stunning RIMOWA x Daniel Arsham Eroded Turntable in Pilot Case Presented as an archival piece. It features a handcrafted turntable made of plaster and crushed glass. The Pilot Case appears to have been discovered in an archaeological site; this imaginative concept is inspired by Arsham’s well-known Future Relic series, which imagined ordinary everyday objects being discovered in a dystopian future.
