Despite being relatively young in Hollywood, actor Timothée Chalamet has fashioned himself to be quite the trendsetter when it comes to red-carpet style. Unlike many A-list movie stars, it’s been said that the 25-year-old does not have a stylist, preferring to experiment with fearless fashion looks and playing between the lines of gender himself

While Timothée kick-started his career as a child actor at the age of 14 in the year 2009 and have had several acting gigs along the way, it wasn’t until his role in Luca Guadagnino's coming-of-age movie Call Me by Your Name in 2017 that catapulted him to the spotlight, earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Combining his credentials with impeccable style, he’s arguably one of the most influential personalities in show business today.

The actor caused quite a stir again this week at the 78th Venice Film Festival during the highly-anticipated Dune premiere, in which he stars. Amongst tuxedo-clad male actors, Timothée is dressed stylishly in an all-black two-piece ensemble by Haider Ackerman, covered completely in shiny beads and punctuated by a white-collared T-shirt.

It was during this festival where French luxury label Cartier announced Timothée as a new friend of the house. In this role, he will be collaborating with the brand on various events and appearances moving forward.

“We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with Timothée by having him officially join the Maison as a Friend of the House,” said Arnaud Carrez, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of Cartier International. “As a man of passion, independence, open-mindedness and creativity, Timothée’s bold approach to life – conveyed through his professional choices and his free-spirited style – is intrinsically aligned with Cartier’s core values.”

At the premiere, Timothée is seen wearing a vintage Cartier onyx and diamond brooch in 18-karat white gold with two rings on his pointer and middle fingers. Below, click through for some of his recent rep-carpet hits.
