It’s safe to say that we’ve watched more movies and TV under lockdown than we’ve ever done before. That’s why the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards is an affair we’re invested in. Celebrating hit shows, movies, and viral performances of the past year, winners are voted by the general public. Live from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, complete with in-person audiences, the awards took place last weekend with comedian Leslie Jones serving as host.

Last year, the show took a hiatus in light of the pandemic and was instead replaced with a TV special hosted by Vanessa Hudgens recapping the best moments in film and television. This year, it returns to honor some of the best productions in show business with Netflix and Disney/Marvel bagging most of the awards. Did we expect any less, though?
