Most Spirited Scent
A LEGENDARY PLAYGROUND
From the Duke of Westminster’s yacht, to the legendary parties at the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, Gabrielle Chanel was certainly no stranger to the glamorous French Riviera scene in the early ’20s. “The riviera was a sun-filled Eden that was a magnet for artists,” explains Chanel’s in-house perfume creator, Olivier Polge, noticing a remarkable light heartedness in the pictures of the French designer surrounded by friends, face upturned to the sun. “The flawless architecture of the villas in those days, the bright and happy atmosphere of party nights … It is what guided the development of this new fragrance.”
Reincarnated within Paris-Riviera, the airy signature scent of the Les Eaux de Chanel collection is instantly recognisable, the scents of the coast reflected in a refreshing veil of Sicilian and Calabrian citrus. Then, emerges the pairing of jasmine and neroli. Over time, an irresistible softness in its base notes of benzoin balm and sandalwood.
Sharing the same sensual streamlined bottle as the other Les Eaux de Chanel fragrances, the rounded shape of Paris-Riviera recalls the flasks of alcohol people used to carry in their waistcoat on long journeys. Rare and exclusive—available only for a year from June 2019—the new blend in Parisian chic touched by the romantically aromatic Mediterranean coastline, invites you to escape without reason.
