Bulgari breathes new life into its beloved Eau Parfumée collection, celebrating heritage, innovation, and the evocative beauty of tea through scent.
In 1992, Bulgari made a quietly audacious entrance into the world of fragrance. With the launch of Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, the Roman jeweller introduced a scent that was radically different—subtle, genderless, and steeped in cultural dialogue. Conceived as a gift for its most exclusive clientele, this green tea-inspired creation signalled the beginning of what would become a globally recognised fragrance signature.
Today, over three decades later, Bulgari celebrates the enduring legacy of Eau Parfumée with a contemporary refresh that honours its origins while embracing a forward-looking sensibility. What was once a daring olfactory experiment is now an emblem of refined elegance, revitalised in 2025 as part of the newly imagined Bulgari Botanical Garden.
At the heart of the relaunch are two pillars of the collection: Eau Parfumée Thé Vert and Eau Parfumée Thé Blanc. Each fragrance pays tribute to the profound cultural heritage of tea and its capacity to connect people, places, and traditions across time.
Thé Vert, originally crafted by master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, captures the invigorating spirit of green tea. Now reformulated with 94% natural origin ingredients and enriched with a natural green tea extract sourced through low-temperature Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE), the scent is both fresher and more authentic than ever. Crisp notes of bergamot, neroli petals, and young green tea leaves unfold in a revitalising harmony that awakens the senses like a breath of morning air in a dewy garden. By contrast, Thé Blanc offers a cocoon of quiet comfort. Created in 2003 by Jacques Cavallier, this serene composition draws on the purity of white tea harvested in China. Now elevated with 89% natural origin ingredients and a delicate SFE-extracted white tea note, the fragrance mingles soft white musk with airy floral tones, creating a scent that is intimate and timelessly elegant.
The Eau Parfumée flacon has always been a masterclass in understated luxury. Inspired by Roman architecture, the bottle’s silhouette remains unchanged—but the details have evolved. A softened beige-gold cap is crowned with a celadon-inspired crackled inlay, evoking the artisanal beauty of ancient Chinese ceramics. Botanical illustrations, hand-drawn by a French botanist, embellish each flacon with embossed motifs that reflect the natural inspirations behind the scents—tea leaves and flowers for Thé Vert, cotton buds for Thé Blanc.
Bulgari’s commitment to craftsmanship extends to its packaging as well. The house has chosen a sustainable hemp-based paper that is not only gentle to the touch but also strong and tactile, a subtle nod to the brand’s synthesis of tradition and innovation.
Over the years, Eau Parfumée has become synonymous with Bulgari’s approach to hospitality. From luxury resorts to private yachts and airlines, its presence is a marker of refined welcome. In keeping with this spirit, the 2025 collection expands beyond fragrance to include body shower gels and lotions—available in select stores—for a full sensorial experience.
