Short haircuts can seem a little limiting in theory. You can't do buns or ponytails or updos, so it can feel like you lack the real estate to do anything fun or festive at all. These celebrities prove just how wrong that assumption is. With a few key accessories, products, and styling tips—or in the case of newly-pixied Cara Delevingne, spray paint, glitter, and fake hair—short haircuts can be as versatile as your imagination allows.

4. Cara’s Way

Cara Delevingne and her hairstylist Mara Roszak are on a mission to prove that you don’t really need much hair to make a memorable hairstyle. At the Met Gala (left), the model/actress spray-pained her bald head silver and stuck on a few crystals for gold measure. While promoting Valerian (center), Delevingne wore a firework hair barrette that wrapped around the back of her head. And at the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Roszak secured a finger-waved hair piece to Delevingne’s scalp to give the illusion of longer (but still short) hair.
