2. From Nature to Fashion with Loewe’s Love for Anthuriums
Embracing the real and the fake. Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2023 expressed the relationship between man and nature. Jonathan Anderson, the Spanish label’s Creative Director, took the approach of how nature can look man-made through simple, elegant and bold silhouettes and colours.
A bright red, plastic-looking anthurium sculpture took centre stage on the runway and was the collection’s motif. Upholding the idea of repetition and iteration, the house’s flower-infused pieces were breath-taking.
The collection reminded viewers of the beauty of the untouched and surely left them appreciating the few natural patches of nature which remain in this concrete driven world.
