First held in London and Hong Kong in 2014, Prada unveils an extension of its Pradasphere exhibition in Shanghai, China. The public exhibition, Pradasphere II, is curated by co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons and displays more than 400 artefacts, both physical and digital, that are drawn from Prada's fashion archives and decades-long engagements across many fields including, art, architecture, culture and sport.

Pradasphere II Shanghai

The Pradasphere II exhibition in Shanghai is staged as a magazzino (the Italian word for warehouse), created in collaboration with 2x4, the New York City and Beijing-based design studio. As one enters the exhibition, one is greeted by an articulate balance of industrial elements and lush velvet interior. Embodying Prada's creative trajectory over its 110 year history, the exhibition "puts forward a way of thinking about luxury" and fashion's intersection with life—history, art, sport, architecture and sound.

The exhibition is held at the Start Museum

The exhibition is housed at the Start Museum in Shanghai which was opened in December 2022 after an ambitious renovation by Jean Nouvel. The museum is located in the historical building of the Nanpu Railway Station (its origins date back to 1907). Two historic train cars provide shelter to the exhibition's special gift shop and workshop.
