MIU MIU

Leave it to Miuccia Prada to fashion up upcycling, in the most wondrous of ways. A far cry from her kooky-minimalist offerings at Prada, this season at Miu Miu saw a fresh approach to re-appropriation, echoing a post-war ingenuity. Simplistic fioris were crafted from self-fabric application, while everyday materials were transformed into quirky adornments. In a nod to the designer’s past, Mrs Prada’s Autumn/Winter ’06 baroque clogs made an unexpected return to the runway, albeit this time updated in the form of mannish brogues and sneakers, paired with ruffled pinafore dresses and off-shoulder midi dresses reminiscent of Anna Magnani.
