From black carpet glamour to heartwarming awards speeches, here’s what went down at BAZAAR Women Of The Year 2022 soiree.

The return of the BAZAAR Women Of The Year last year was a reminder of the synchronic strength and glamour of Malaysia’s finest women. There was no better way to toast the city’s best women through an evening soiree. BAZAAR Women Of The Year 2022 was built around the tenets of Malaysian film, and celebrates the unsung heroes of ambitious and driven actresses.

Getting Ready With The Stars

Before making their grand entrance, our BAZAAR Women Of The Year 2022 had the pleasure of getting ready at the Pavilion Hotel’s elegant suite. With makeup artists including Ummi Nasir, Khir Khalid, and Kevin Lee in attendance, the ladies such as Susan Lankester, Vanidah Imran, Sofia Jane, Sangeeta Krishnasamy, Jasmine Suraya and Elise Shick, were pampered and prepped to look snatched with YSL Beauty. From a dark eye-shadow look to nude lips, the makeup artists offered their interpretation of the night’s gilded chic theme.

The Black Carpet

From joyous reunions with friends to dazzling outfits, our guests made a grand entrance at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur dressed in a stunning array of enthralling looks – a riot of texture, style, and colours – that turned heads. Celebrities and socialites such as Meerqeen, Datin Sri Eannes Chop, and Ridduan Ismail dressed to the nine to celebrate women in film.

Posed in front of the elegant, four-door luxury Audi Q8 coupé, our BAZAAR Women Of The Year such as Scha Alyahya and Eyka Farhana pulled out all the stops with their stylish ensembles. Elevated by high jewellery pieces from Tiffany & Co., these ladies were dressed by the finest.

Other guests and awardees also added an extra twist to their creative glamour for the evening and they did not disappoint with their mesmerising ensembles.

The Delectable Menu

After snapping photos to their hearts’ content at the photo wall, guests had the pleasure of devouring canapés and delectable wines from Michaelangelo’s Ristorante. From battered prawns with spicy aioli to deep-fried risotto balls with mushroom, and tartlets with vanilla custard and fresh fruits, our guests feasted lavishly. With prosecco in their hands, guests were having an unforgettable night.

The Celebration Of Women In Film

As attendees chatted, ate, and caught with old friends, it was finally time for the awards. The awards presented at BAZAAR Women Of The Year 2022 reflected noteworthy individuals who had power, influence, ambition, and style. We honoured 10 women including Susan Lankester, Vanidah Imran, Sofia Jane, Scha Alyahya, Sangeeta Krishnasamy, Jasmine Suraya, Elise Shick, Nadiah Hamzah, Amelia Henderson, and Eyka Farhana for their achievements in film. The ladies took to the stage to receive their trophies and bouquet and gave us a few heartwarming speeches.

Having established themselves as some of the most fearless, versatile talents from past and newer generations, all of these Malaysian women in film have managed to display incredible star wattage. Guided by a strong sense of morals, ethics, creativity, and duty, there’s no surprise why these women were chosen to be our BAZAAR Women Of The Year 2022.

An Unforgettable Night

The night ended on a high note as guests mingled around. When it was finally time to call it a night, everyone went home with gift bags filled with YSL Beauty goodies and Tiffany & Co. perfume.
