The exhibition is open till the 15th of January 2023 at The Powerhouse Ultimo.
First held in Florence to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the storied Italian House, the Gucci Garden Archetypes exhibition has arrived in Sydney, Australia. Having made its way through Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul since its grand launch, its arrival in Sydney marks its 7th stop around the world.
The exhibition is housed at The Powerhouse Ultimo and sees several rooms (designed by design studio Archivio Personale) with different themes—each a recreation of “Gucci’s most seminal and conceptually adventurous advertising campaigns envisioned by Alessandro Michele”. Taking us through an immersive world rooted in music, travel, art and pop culture, the exhibition uses “cutting-edge technology, elaborate hand-crafting and innovative interior design” to transform Creative Director, Alessandro Michele’s unique vision into definitive “narrative spaces”.
“I thought it was interesting to accompany people in these almost eight years of adventure, inviting them to cross the imaginary, the narrative, the unexpected, the glitter. So, I created a playground of emotions that are the same as in the campaigns, because they are the most explicit journey into my imagery, ” says Alessandro Michele, who curated the exhibition.
Guests visiting the exhibition will make their way through 8 thematic rooms before ending their sensorial journey at a curated gift shop.
