Farfetch has used World Earth Day as an opportunity to launch its new Climate Conscious Delivery service with the aim of reducing its carbon emissions. Shipping will now involve more efficient packaging sizes and the company will incentivise retail and brand partners to select the correct size box for their item. Where possible, pieces will be sent in bulk via its fulfilment network and the copany has also announced it will offset the remaining impacts from deliveries and return. Last year, the online shopping destination introduced two new initiatives to promote conscious shopping – a resale. destination (Farfetch SecondLife) and a donation service (with Thrift+) to help consumers extend the life of their clothing and handbags.
