Inside The Dior Lady Art #10 Collection and Its Striking New Iterations

Eva Jospin, Jessica Cannon and Sophia Loeb rendered beautiful silhouettes for the Dior Lady Art #10 collection.

Refined with boxy, architectural lines, Cannage motif stitching, delicate lucky charms and rounded top handles, the Lady Dior is a reflection of Dior’s feminine and modern ethos that has transcended the boundaries of innovation and inventiveness. Debuted in the arms of Princess Diana in 1995, the bag—brainchild of former artistic director Gianfranco Ferré—has cemented a fashion legacy over the years. Across time, the legendary silhouette has even evolved through a prism of hues, dimensions and fabrications. In the hands of Dior’s former creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, it emerged anew—recast in modern tonalities and architectures, manifested as the Lady D-Lite and Lady D-Joy. Embodying a feminine, sophisticated aura, the Lady Dior has seen many beautiful faces, and it continues to unfold in striking new iterations.

Each year, Dior corrals some of the world’s best contemporary artists to render avant-garde silhouettes of the Lady Dior through their own artistic vision—implementing their own sensiibilities, imagination and narratives. Blossomed with a multitude of colours, textures and designs, season after season, there were always several different ideas at play. This year, the legendary project turns ten, which is why Dior enlisted a group of ten creatives: Eva Jospin, Jessica Cannon, Sophia Loeb, Patrick Eugène, Ju Ting, Lakwena, Lee Ufan, Inès Longevial, Marc Quinn, and Alymamah Rashed to create the sculptural object of desire—one of art and fashion’s most iconic crossovers. Take a look at how some of the artists, such as Eva Jospin, Jessica Cannon and Sophia Loeb, transformed the Lady Dior into their dream canvas.
