In collaboration with Russian fashion designer, photographer and filmmaker, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Burberry offers a reinterpretation of its icons through a streetwear lens. Inspired by the youth culture and legacy of British football in Russia, the capsule collection features Burberry’s iconic vintage check running through coats, shirts and tailored shorts, remixed with oversized proportions and two-tone gabardine manufactured at the brand’s Castleford factory.
Reimagined in oversized shapes, outerwear pieces form the crux of the collection, ranging from the classic Burberry trench coat in a two-tone honey and navy cotton gabardine with Gosha’s initials embroidered near the lining, to a reconstructed car coat with a check cotton-twill bib front and a reversible Harrington jacket.
Joining forces with British milliner Stephen Jones, the collection also offers a selection of hats, namely a bucket hat, baseball cap and duckbill cap – all with detachable earflaps – in check cotton twill and cotton gabardine.
Previewed as part of Gosha’s Spring/Summer 2018 menswear collection, the Gosha x Burberry capsule collection is now available online and in selected stores globally at Burberry stores, Dover Street Market, and Comme des Garçons concessions.
