Bodysuit; and skirt, both from Max Mara. Shoes, Roger Vivier. Cuff; and ring, both from KMO Paris Jewelry.

“Here we go again,” Datin Adib whispers before walking through the doors to the shoot. Her last time on set with the magazine was a decade-long ago, after all, during her 16-year tenure as boutique manager at Chopard in Suria KLCC, which she describes passionately as “grateful”, “stylish”, and “amazing”.

After her exit in December 2015, she embarked on a little adventure of her own, partnering with indie costume jewellery brands from Australia and Indonesia, and showcasing them in Malaysia. “I wanted to bring something fun and new to the Malaysian fashion scene,” she explains. “We have the big brands, but we’re lacking the cool kids.”

It was during a shopping spree at Galeries Lafayette in Paris that she stumbled upon textured and lightweight pieces from KMO Paris Jewelry, and she has since been a self-proclaimed ambassador. “Watches and jewels complete an outfit, and they’re an investment every woman should have!” she laughs. With Instagram influencer Malin Känsäkangas Bergfors (@upcloseandstylish) constantly on her radar, Datin Adib never runs out of inspiration when it comes to her personal style. Her less-is-more philosophy is seen through her choice of tailored suits and sneakers, an ensemble that is as timeless as her eye for good style. Citing Victoria Beckham as her modern-day style icon, Datin Adib’s approach to life is simple; to age and embrace life one step at a time.
