A Vision Of Creativity & Unity At #CelebrateM

It is no question that the Melium showcase is one of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week’s most anticipated shows year after year. The leading luxury fashion retail and lifestyle specialist has made constant headway in establishing Malaysia as a global fashion destination. The Group’s impressive portfolio of over a hundred desirable brands alongside the president and founder of Melium, Dato’ Seri Dr Farah Khan’s wide-ranging fashion initiatives have been thrilling the local fashion crowd for decades. This 2018 has been no different as we were completely swept away with Melium’s dedication to pushing inclusivity and artistry through this season’s theme of Creativity, Curation and Collaboration.

This spirit of unity was the focus of the Melium runway show, pronounced through the diverse range of garments featured in the showcase which included versatile athleisure pieces to elegant evening-wear ensembles. The refined yet interesting mix of looks is completely understandable when considering the bright, multi-talented and stylish supporters of Melium who attended the show. We saw some of Kuala Lumpur’s most notable names: DYMM Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom of Pahang, DYTM Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah and YAM Tengku Fahd al Muadzam Shah, to name a few. Gifted budding artists, corporate powerhouses and charismatic influencers aplenty were in attendance on the night, both on and off the runway. Maria Mogsolova, the face of renowned Fashion TV and the Farah Khan ambassador in Europe opened the show with immense gracefulness, dressed completely in Farah Khan Couture. This was closely followed by an array of celebrated personalities such as Dato Emma Ibrahim in Emilio Pucci; Angela Karto and Erwin Azizi in Lanvin & Givenchy, Othman Mirzan in Hackett London and Neelofa in Max Mara.

The dazzling showcase marks the first Malaysian debut of the Farah Khan Maitres de L’art Couture Collection which was successfully received earlier this year at London’s distinguished Halcyon Gallery. The Melium Group also introduced the Hackett London Limited Edition Malaysia Polo for the very first time with the Malaysian flag adorning the entire collection to aptly honour the upcoming Merdeka celebrations. The show was closed by Maria Mogoslova where we saw a sea of striking Andy Warhol Limited Edition Bomber Jackets and pieces from the Maitres de L’art Couture Collection. The night continued on for Melium in a similar exciting manner: show goers were treated to an exclusive shopping session through a decadent late-night soiree.

The Melium Group continues to serve their loyal but very well deserved following while simultaneously making great waves abroad, truly creating a name for the modern Malaysia that we know. If there was a single force in the local fashion scene that cannot be stopped, it’s Dato’ Seri Dr Farah Khan and the talented team she has over at Melium.
