Exciting news for Polène lovers, the Parisian brand has opened its first store in London on Regent Street. This would be the brand’s fifth store after Paris, New York, Tokyo and Seoul. The store is designed by WGNB, the same company that worked on the Korean flagship store. On creating the space, WGNB were inspired by Polène’s history and touched on the concept of “soft brutalism”.  Blending the creativity and art of leather making with the minimalist aesthetic of brutalist architecture, the concept sheds light of the brand’s elegant and minimalist creations.

To encapsulate this idea, Corten steel and concrete finishing were utilised to contrast the organic, rounded silhouettes of Polène’s sophisticated offerings. Notable works of art that showcase Polène’s diverse creativity and savoir faire include an entire wall of bricks made from leather scraps. Elsewhere, a woven leather bannister made by artisans from Alma Studio leads guests to the first floor to discover more of Polène’s unique pieces. On the first floor, an enormous table made from 230 kilos of leather fragments exemplifies the brand’s creativity process that was perfected in the brand’s leather goods workshops in Ubrique.
