Last night a who’s who of Hollywood and fashion gathered at the picturesque Hotel Eden Roc Du Cap for the 23rd annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala—sponsored by Belvedere Vodka and Harry Winston. As always, the evening featured a live auction coaxing the audience from Leonardo DiCaprio, to Karolina Kurkova and Uma Thurman to bid on art, cars and exotic vacations all for the continuous support of AIDS research. But it was an auction donated by top designers like Tom Ford, Alexandre Vauthier, and Diane von Furstenberg that fetched the most money for a single auction that evening.
Bazaar’s Global Fashion Director, Carine Roitfeld presented a special runway show for the Disco-themed night—enlisting the help of Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Bella Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, Irina Shayk and more to shimmy and dance their way down the runway to ’70s hits in the 32 donated looks—all perfect for a glamorous night in Cannes. At the end of the show, with all the models continuing to shake it on stage, world-renowned auctioneer Simon De Pury roused the audience to bid on, not one, but all 32 dresses—with the final bid going for 1.5 million euros.
