Ralph Lauren transported the fashion set back to the Jazz Age—bringing forth a wave of glamour and glitz that’s been notably missing from New York Fashion Week. It all unfolded at “Ralph’s Club,” a ballroom on Wall Street that the designer transformed into a swanky nightclub channeling Café Society.

Much like the setting, the collection itself centered around a return to classic glamour and style—with sharp tuxedo suits and standout red carpet gowns. There was an evening attire dress code, a jazz band playing, and two Hadid sisters sparkling down the runway. But it was the performance by Janelle Monae that really stole the show. Clad in a halter-neck tuxedo dress, she brought down the house with a theatrical medley of jazz anthems—waking up the fashion crowd, getting Ralph to join in on a little singing, and ultimately, putting both the glamour and the fun back in fashion week.—Lauren Alexis Fisher
