Simon Porte Jacquemus is that rare designer who truly understands the social media generation. He did create the giant hat and the tiny bags liked ’round the world, after all. For Fall 2019, he created his own little world, “Place Jacquemus,” a colorful, Insta-worthy set inspired by a fictional town in the South of France—with colorful doors, distressed wooden benches, and clothes lines. The looks were South of France-worthy as well—with wide leg trousers under elongated vests and airy suiting in shades of light blue and cream. This is Fall though, after all, and the Jacquemus girl needs some knits, boots and coats and the designer was happy to comply with a layered, monochrome hot pink look, orange leather skirts and neutral sweaters. –Kerry Pieri
