The Return of an Icon

Loewe’s Amazona bag makes its long-awaited return to the scenes.

We love a good comeback. Making its debut for A/W ’21, the house’s inimitable Amazona bag has been reborn with a modern edge. The return of the iconic bag coincides with Loewe’s 175th anniversary. Presented in two new styles, the Amazona 19 square and Amazona 28, the nappa calfskin bags are available in a wide range of bold colours. A more contemporary version emblazoned with the house’s Anagram motif woven in jacquard is also on offer—a tempting variation for the chic.

Designed in 1975, the Amazona was made with independent women in mind. Embodying the spirit of equality and independence synonymous with the era, the Amazona is an emblematic item rich in history and artisanal craft. Its classic design is comfortable and provides a versatile style that is suited for any occasion—perfect for the modern woman of today.

The nappa calfskin variation is supple and simply delectable. Reworked in shades of Avocado Green, Lime Yellow and Mink to name a few, the new colours offer a timeless and joyful complement to the contemporary wardrobe. On the other hand, the Anagram Jacquard Amazona portrays a bolder alternative to the classic appeal of the nappa. An outstanding design in its own right, the Anagram Jacquard variation is created for the brave and modern spirit who savours the unconventional. Its motif sees four interlocking ‘L’s entwined in harmony to create an eye-catching pattern. And if you are worried about the complications associated with fabric bags, fret not for the fabric is water-repellent and resistant to stains.
