The future of fashion is here, and it looks see-through.
As originally spotted by Glamour, Topshop recently released a pair of completely see-through plastic jeans.
These are basically Kylie Jenner’s clear plastic booties taken to the next level. Even Topshop admits the trousers aren’t exactly ideal for everyday wear, claiming they’d be perfect “as a statement piece for a festival or costume party.” The brand goes on to recommend you either “take the look to the extreme with a bikini and sequin jacket, or dress [them] down, layered under an oversized jumper or asymmetric hem dress.”
On the plus side, the “jeans” come in Topshop’s super popular and very flattering MOTO cut, which means they’re the perfect straight-leg style, cropped just above the ankle. They’re also machine-washable, which is probably not something you’re concerned about if you’re debating buying a pair of 100% polyurethane pants — but is definitely a positive all the same.
However, it seems like most of the internet isn’t convinced these trousers are a good idea — and many have taken to social media to express their concern over Topshop’s peculiar new product.
