The Luminor Due Luna watch by Panerai taps into the romance of the moon phase complication for its new novelties.
Perhaps a true romantic at heart, Panerai is now introducing the moon phase to its celebrated Luminor Due collection. Unquestionably, the moon phase is easily the most poetic of all watch complications. Because the presence of a moon navigating its way across a deep blue sky right there on your wrist brings with it a sense of wonderment and imagination, as it invites the mind to wander to the cosmos.
The moon phase is the first ever complication ever to grace the previously time-only function of Panerai's Luminor Due model. Aptly named the Luminor Due Luna, this timepiece is an elegant companion for the equally sophisticated, dynamic style-savvy woman. Also, with four gorgeous models to choose from—all measuring a practical 38 mm—this watch is sure to appeal to a broad spectrum of watch enthusiasts.
Identically, each model showcases the moon phase in a crescent window at 3 o’clock, adjacent to the trademarked Panerai crown-protection device. Here, a solid 24-karat gold moon (entirely sculpted by hand) glides across a starry midnight blue sky, measuring the different phases of the moon as it follows the lunar cycle. Additionally, what's fascinating about this moon phase function is that it can be set directly from the watch crown, allowing for fuss-free setting without the need for an extra tool or corrector.
Something to suit your personal style
The first of the four models is the Luminor Due Luna Madreperla (PAM01181). This model is dressed not only in a mother-of-pearl dial but also in white Super-LuminovaTM coating on its numerals and indexes. These are housed within a case made from Panerai GoldtechTM, an alloy of platinum and copper that imbues the metal with a deep, red tone. The watch is complemented by a dark blue alligator strap.
Meanwhile, two other references from this collection boast steel cases that carry the signature Panerai sandwich structure. Its upper layer is a white sun-brushed dial with its numerals and indexes hollowed out, which are then illuminated by beige Super-LuminovaTM on the bottom layer. Comparatively, the dressier variant offers a bracelet in Luminor Due steel (PAM01179). However, its sister model—our personal favourite—flaunts its feminity with an elegant polished pink alligator strap (PAM01180). Lastly, we have the Luminor Due Luna with a sun-brushed blue sandwich dial and matching polished blue alligator strap. Perhaps a clever take on the allure of a blue moon, this is a most handsome monochrome timepiece. Perfect for the woman who prefers a timeless, classic expression on her wrist.
