The Joyous Hues Of The New Blancpain Ladybird Colors Collection

There’s more to Blancpain’s Ladybird than just a pretty face. When it was first introduced in 1956—from the brilliant minds of Betty Fiechter, the first female CEO of a leading watchmaking company, and her nephew Jean-Jacques Fiechter—the Ladybird watch was the smallest round mechanical movement of its era. Its introduction revolutionised watchmaking, continuing Blancpain’s legacy of creating exceptional timepieces for women that stand alone as original creations and not mere iterations or adaptations of their men’s watches. And now the groundbreaking Ladybird is set to entice a new generation of watch lovers as Blancpain presents the latest range of Ladybird Colors.

Then there’s the pretty face: a white mother-of-pearl dial made all the more beautiful by applied gold Arabic numerals in sensuous silhouettes with equally sinuous hour and minute hands in the shapes of hollowed-out sage leaves, a Blancpain signature. Adding to the blinged-out case is a ring of smaller diamonds at the centre of the dial.

The Ladybird Colors Complicated Beauty

An elegant jewellery watch fashioned by the meticulous hands of skilled gem-setters and artisans, the Ladybird Color is also a harmonious feat of engineering. It is powered by Blancpain’s very own in-house Calibre 1153, a slender complication comprising of a circular-grained mainplate with chamfered, satin-brushed bridges further adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif and a gold oscillating weight, all made visible via the watch’s transparent sapphire caseback.

And ah, the new colours. Seven colour variations are available to suit one’s personality and preference. The red gold model is offered in a choice of peacock green, midnight blue or satin-white alligator leather strap. On the other hand, the white gold version is paired with alligator leather strap in a selection of lemon yellow, tangerine orange, lilac or satin-white. A gold pin buckle or folding clasp set with nine diamonds complements each strap.

Marking the dawn of a new era for Blancpain’s feminine watch collection, the Ladybird Colors collection expresses elegance in a refreshing colour palette symbolic of diversity, enthusiasm and joy.
