Relive the Excitement of the Chanel J12 Boat Race 2026

What does a luxury fashion House have in common with a dynamic boat race?

Away from its glamorous runway shows and advertising billboards, Chanel is creating literal waves in a field we'd least expect. Just last weekend, for the second year running, the River Thames played host to one of Britain’s most exciting sporting spectacles, this time bearing a rather elegant new name: The Chanel J12 Boat Race. On that brisk Saturday morning, crews from Oxford and Cambridge University took their positions at Putney, and the race was on.

Oxford women, Cambridge men, and a Chanel J12 keeping perfect time. This is Boat Race unlike any other.

The results were suitably dramatic. Oxford’s women claimed their victory with composed authority, while Cambridge’s men powered their way to Mortlake in equally impressive fashion, both crews cheered on by over 200,000 spectators lining the Championship Course’s 4.25-mile stretch of tidal Thames.
