Set in Northern Italy during World War Two, this epic romantic war drama tells the story of three strangers who find themselves in a bombed-out monastery with a severely burned patient (Ralph Fiennes), who can’t recall his identity. In a series of flashbacks, the patient slowly recalls the torturous love-affair he had with a married woman (Kristin Scott Thomas) in Egypt, whilst working in the Sahara Desert.
