Before Phi Phi Island in Thailand was brimming with Full Moon parties, it was the film set for the Danny Boyle’s adaptation of The Beach. A young American named Richard (Leonardo DiCaprio) is left a map by a suicidal stranger in a Bangkok-hostel, telling of a secret paradisal island in the Gulf of Thailand. Richard discovers the tropical oasis and decides to live there, only to find paradise is not without treachery or temptation.
