Blackbyrd KL Takes Your Dining Experience to Greater Heights

Nestled on the 50th floor of NAZA’s Platinum Park tower in central Kuala Lumpur, this 5-star restaurant is gaining major attraction from local Kuala Lumpur diners and world travelers alike, thanks to its breathtaking view of the city skyline that glistens during the evening. Led by Executive Chef Jason Tan, Blackbyrd offers elevated comfort food that brings you back to your childhood with an intricate fine dining touch. Albeit being only 5 months old, the dining establishment achieves fully-booked evenings day after day, and that record is not stopping anytime soon. Reservations are highly advised prior to your dining experience to secure the best view in the house.

BAZAAR Loves… the colorful, extensive gastronomy offerings. Indonesian cuisine sits at the core of Blackbyrd’s dining experience–especially being a part of ISMAYA Group, the leading food & beverage brand in Jakarta–and the burst of flavor that’s ever-so familiar in an Asian household. The best part? All of its ingredients are locally-sourced and sometimes homemade in-house to reach Chef Tan’s sky-high expectations. His specialties include the handmade noodles that is vital to one of our personal favorite dishes in the menu, the Mie Goreng Sambal Matah, that re-imagines the street food classic to perfection.

Finishing touches… One step into the restaurant and you’re instantly transported to a whole new state of mind. The dim, warm lights that surround the space gives the restaurant a comforting feel, while the terrazzo flooring adds to the contrast of familiarity to Blackbyrd’s lush interior. Opt for a communal dining experience, or sit by the gold-trimmed bar lounge area that’s located right by the entrance of the Dragonfly night club, or have the whole place to yourself in a private dining area.

Sharing the love… Blackbyrd offers some of the city’s best options for sharing plates. Group reservations are not uncommon at the restaurant, as guests spend special occasions and birthday dinners with friends and family on a regular. Best-seller Wagyu Satay is a crowd favorite, as well as the unique blend of flavors of the Crispy Nori Crunch, a tempura-dipped seaweed appetizer that’s topped with cubes of salmon marinated in ginger and sesame oil. Desserts are always a good idea, and Blackbyrd infuses a bit of Malaysia into classic options. Don’t leave the place without trying their signature Es Cendol Waffle, an egg waffle topped with cendol, grass jelly shaved coconut, jackfruit and coconut ice cream.
