Chris Evans Finally Reveals His Marriage with Alba Baptista

Chris Evans, the famous actor best known for his role as ‘Captain America’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has confirmed his marriage to Alba Baptista, a Portuguese actress. The pair apparently held two private wedding ceremonies, one in Evans’ home state of Massachusetts at a private residence and one in Baptista’s native, Portugal.

Evans announced the surprise during a panel discussion at New York Comic Con on 14 October 2023. “I got married,” he told the cheering crowd. “It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese. Yeah, go Portugal!” as he described the wedding as “beautiful and wonderful.”

Evans and Baptista have kept their relationship mostly under wraps, including not disclosing their engagement prior to tying the knot. They first sparked romance rumours in January 2022 before a source confirmed they both had been dating “for over a year, and it’s serious.” Evans only made his first public acknowledgement of their relationship in January 2023. Nonetheless, Evans has always been open about his desire to establish a family and settle down. “That’s absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family,” Evans said.

There are little details on the couple’s wedding ceremonies, but a source told People magazine that the first ceremony was a “small, intimate affair” attended by close friends and family. Evans’ “Avengers” co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson were reportedly among the guests at the wedding.
