In Good Spirits: The New Craft Spirits Selection By Emirates

Here, we dive straight into the story of Dalmore’s prized King Alexander III, the only single malt Scotch whisky in the world, created using a unique six-cask finish through a taste test that clearly communicates the individual qualities of each whisky. The spectrum of flavours from King Alexander III is achieved through six separate “maturation journeys” before coming together as a harmonious whole. Think warm citrus, nutty scents from the Matusalem oloroso sherry and Madeira casks, hints of wild berries and plums from the Port and Marsala barrels, soft vanilla notes from bourbon casks, and a touch of elegance from the Cabernet Sauvignon barriques. I’ve not encountered a whisky that has lived “six lives”, and quite as glorious as the King Alexander III, but the marriage of coffee, bitter chocolate, and Christmas pudding lingers in the throat, with a freshness that uplifts worn-out spirits.
