It is here that I got to draw drams of the finest Royal Salute 38 Year Old Stone of Destiny, straight from the cask, with the world-renowned Colin Scott, master blender of Chivas Regal. He likens his art to that of a composer, building musical characteristics into a symphony. The rich golden liquid glisten beneath the dim cellar lights, as I sip on an assertive full-bodied mix of fruity and smokey notes. It’s no wonder that this spirit was created to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, and was named after the red sandstone used for British Royal coronation ceremonies.
